In 2007 HateSphere released the album ‘Serpent Smiles and Killer Eyes’ to much critical acclaim and - for a Danish thrash metal band - good sales figures. Then something weird happened. The band didn’t split up as such, but all band members except founding member, guitarist Peter “Pepe” Lyse Hansen, just left one by one to focus on their civil lives or other bands.

One could think that that would be the end of HateSphere. But one would be very wrong. HateSphere’s sixth full length album, ‘To The Nines’, is among the band’s best, if not THE best. And they have made some pretty good records over the years…

One of the many problems Peter “Pepe” Lyse Hansen faced after the departure of his band mates was to find a new lead singer to replace frontman Jacob Bredahl (who left HateSphere to play guitar in hardcore outfit Last Mile).

Bredahl was not only a hell of a metal singer but also charismatic and extremely well liked in the metal community. Enter Jonathan Albrechtsen (“Joller” among friends) - kind of a blank page in the metal world and absolutely ace.

“Joller” is just 20 years old but he growls like a heavy metal veteran who has been around the world - and hated everything about it. He is just plain brilliant. As is the rest of HateSphere who do the super fast, super aggressive on the great tracks ‘Backstabber’ and ‘Cloaked In Shit’ as well as the slower, melodic and almost rock’n’roll-ish on ‘Clarity’.

‘To The Nines’ is intense, raw and pretty much has everything a nice, evil thrash album should have. And then some.
